In 2024, to herald in the festive season, The Claridges New Delhi invites its beloved guests to visit the Hotel and experience The World, through a culinary initiative aptly named,” Around the World, in Eighty Plates.” on the 16th November 2024, this is a culinary celebration that will offer an immersive gastronomic journey through diverse countries. Each dish will showcase the authentic flavours, techniques, and cultural significance of iconic cuisines from France, Spain, Italy, Japan, India, Mexico, Thailand, Greece, Russia, China, United Kingdom, United States, Middle East, Argentina, and Pakistan.
In 1872, Jules Verne wrote one of his most acclaimed novels titled ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’. The story was about a wealthy Englishmen who embarked upon an adventure of a lifetime wherein he and his companion circumvented the world and saw it, in eighty odd days. The book takes you on a journey into different parts of the world such as the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Japan, India, France, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Around the World in Eighty Plates aims at capturing the essence of each nation’s culinary tradition, whilst highlighting Gourmet Planet & The Claridges New Delhi’s partnership in curating excellent fine dining experiences. The design of the menu is a key element in bringing this theme to life, visually guiding guests as they “travel” across continents, savouring global delights in the sophisticated setting of The Garden.
This is the second edition of Around the world in 80 Plates, with Gourmet Planet teaming up with The Claridges to curate this fantastic gastronomical journey on both occasions. With over 700 carefully curated events under its belt, Gourmet Planet is the leader in the elite event space in New Delhi and along with the Fine Team at The Claridges is bringing you this spectacular night to savour.
