RAAYA by Atmosphere, part of Ventive Hospitality’s Maldives portfolio, has received the International Sustainability Award 2026 for its approach to responsible resource management and lower-impact island operations.
Located in Raa Atoll, RAAYA was developed with environmental considerations embedded across energy, water, waste and marine tourism. Its key initiatives include:
- A 693 kW solar installation that avoids approximately 187 litres of diesel consumption and nearly 494 kg of CO₂ emissions every hour
- An on-site water bottling plant that reduces plastic consumption
- Reuse of treated wastewater for landscaping Waste segregation, organic waste composting and responsible SWRO brine-management protocols
- Seb’s Farm, which grows more than 50 varieties of vegetables and herbs
- Green Fins protocols for lower-impact diving and snorkelling
The resort is Green Globe certified and a Green Fins Digital Member, reflecting internationally recognised standards across sustainable resort operations and marine tourism.
The recognition also supports Ventive Hospitality’s wider sustainability programme across its Maldives portfolio. This includes coral restoration, biodiversity monitoring and sea turtle conservation initiatives undertaken with organisations including the Olive Ridley Project, Marine Savers and the Maldives Environmental Protection Agency.
